NYU DPT Housing for summer 2019

Hey everyone!

I'm still waiting to hear back from some more schools but I was accepted to NYU for 2019 and was curious about some things. For those who have been admitted for the upcoming school year, do you guys have any insight on what the best options are for housing? Jessica sent out an email today regarding orientation and summer housing but it looked like the housing application opens up before orientation in April. I wasn't sure how we were supposed to choose our roommates and what not before then... Also I didn't know if the NYU graduate student housing was even the best option.

I’m in a similar situation, but with Hunter instead. From what I can tell and have been told from asking around, your best bet is to start looking for roommates to rent an apartment with. I have not started looking seriously quite yet, but sharing a 2-3 bed apartment with 1-2 roommates seems better financially than utilizing the school’s graduate housing. The housing is convenient and is similar to dorm living so if you can afford it it is still very viable. If you’re looking to save money it’s probably better to look for rent or sublet.
