I was at an interview a few days back and someone had referred to NYUCD as a "GD factory." They said that most students who attend NYU don't end up specializing or simply cannot. So I was wondering if that is like common lingo and does this hold any truth? If so, why?

My other question is do you really need to be in the top 10% of your class to specialize?

Any input specifically in relation to NYU would be greatly appreciated, TIA! 🙂

There are a lot of people from my class who specialized/are specializing. OMFS, ortho, endo, peds, pros, perio -- all top programs too. Someone who works hard and gets good grades is always going to have doors open for them after graduation - regardless of which school you attend.
