Does anyone know anything about NYU's housing? I know there are dorms, and that they're pretty bad, but I wasn't sure if they were just for first years or if students had dorms for all four years??? Are there apartments/better housing for second, third, and fourth years???

When I was there, I think I remember the tour guide saying that most first and second years live in singles in a big dorm building and that 3rd and 4th years can live in apartment style housing on campus. I got to see the singles and they are pretty standard college dorms with communal bathrooms and kitchens.

there are studios across from the main building for 2nd years and up. there's also other apartment buildings elsewhere that i didn't get to see. i stayed in a studio w/ a host and it was pretty nice. it's pricey ($1200/month), but still an amazing deal for your own place in manhattan.

Stay in the Palladium. Its right down the street from union square, which is pretty cool, and a few minutes from campus, with plenty of bus stops on the street. Its a short walk to the markets at union square. also, its alot nicer than the dorms in the greenwich village, and the food at palladium is probably the best. plus, your in the middle, locality wise for the dorms. With half of the dorms to the north of ya, and half to the south. Palladium is also pretty close to Gramercy, which is considered the most upscale residential area.
