Hi. I'm new to this forum.
I heard that if you get an interview invitation from NYU, it means you are in unless some unusual disaster happens.
Is it true? because i've seen some people on predents.com who get waitlisted or rejected at NYU.

What is the percentage for acceptance after the interview? I hope it's an easy school to get in after interview

dudde greaaaat question....i was wondering the same exact thing!!!

nyu doesnt release that data on adea guide to schools from what ive seen

but around 600-800 get interviews and the acceptance rate is around half that

Well i know UF and NOVA interview around 350 and they accepted around 150.. and about 100 of those 150 accepted actually attend the school...

Since NYU class size is about 200 students (twice the size of UF & NOVA). Im pretty sure they interview in the area of 500-600 students and they probably accept around 250-300 in hope of having 200 students to actually attend the school.

The reason they accept more students than seats in their school is because a lot of students who get accepted, chances are they got accepted to some other school. so the students have to choose which school to attend. which in term leaves open seats for other students.

i think doc toothache has a spread sheet for this

anyone have that link? no but seriously if you have the psychologist does that mean youll be rejected

Correction: NYU has 230 seats.

I am pretty sure that they accept somewhere 600 students per year. Many of them choose not to attend because of the cost.

The interviews are somewhere in 1000-1100.

even if it is 600, they don't max out their number.. they keep it at 230, then if someone withdraws their acceptance, one from the waiting list will be accepted.. so it won't exceed 230 at once. but total it'll definitely be over 230.

If I recall correctly, during my interview, Dr. Mejia said they interview around 700-800 applicants... Can anyone else confirm this?

dude interviewing with psychologist...does that mean rejection

Ok. So out of 700-800 people who get interview invitations from NYU, how many people get accepted and how many people get rejected ?

If NYU just wanna fill up their seats, they are not gonna reject anybody because they know TOO MANY people will withdraw NYU. RIght??

at the interview they said they interview 700-800 people and accept 500-600. they do hand out more than 230 acceptances at one time because they know that they aren't going to get everyone to accept. however, i don't know how many they give december 1st.

great question!! how many acceptance given on dec 1...i noticed some peeps on predents that were waitlisted even with september interviews!

Last year I think they interviewed close to 700 people for their 230 spots... as far as acceptances go they give out probably closer to 400, since as people up there said some students who get accepted end up attending other schools (mainly b/c of cheaper costs)...

I had the psychologist and i wasnt quite so lucky..got Waitlisted. That guy scared the bejesus out of me!

I had the psychologist recently, and he wasn't too bad to me. He interviewed three people on my day and one of them said it was really bad, so it's kind of a toss up whether or not he will do anything rough. I obviously have no idea yet if I got in or not, but there are quite a few people I spoke to that interviewed with him (some even had miserable interviews) and still got in. People tell me that you should just try your utmost to keep your head on straight and don't let him get to you. It could also be that he is rougher to females than males; the one applicant on my interview day who had a hard time was a girl. I don't know though...

when I interview at the NYU, not with the psychologist, while she interviewing me she wrote something down on the application sheet. I'm really curious other interviewers did write down something.
