Hi guys,

I got an interview call from NYU. MY interview is on 23rd oct. I am planning to go over there on 22nd oct. let me know if some female has the same interview date & would like to share the room with me over there in some hotel.

I reactivated my application over there long back. My part1 scores is 89.

i also did get an interview call from NYU....i think mostly i will go on oct 30th.can u tell me why u reactivated ur application?u have a good score.

I applied over there last time. May be my appliaction was late, I did not get an interview call from there last time Its very random yaar, some students applied along with me and got a call & got selected over there.

How gvblack and nidhigupta1000. which such good scores, didn't even got an interview from NYU?
Do you guys have extremely low GPA's? or what thing in your application made NYU not to even call you? 😕

thanks for ur rsponse i also did get a call from nyu with intterview options like 23rd and 30...but u know my husband is telling me to go on 30th.are u going alone nidhi?if so maybe we can join together...can u tell me where u live,i can get in touch with u...i can tell you with certainity whether i will go on 23rd or 30th by evening.gv blavk my part 1 is 85 and part 2 is 82 and i applied way way too early...it doesnt depend on ur scores but when u applied u will also get a call very soon.
 
Hi Megs,

My GPA is 3.24. I donot think its too bad. The only thing is may be my application was a bit late. I applied there in Jan. I have met students who got 90+ in part1 & part2 but GPA of 2.2. It all depends, you never know, just a matter of luck

i have sent an application to NYU in the 1st wk of oct. But they received my part 1 score in the 3rd wk of oct.. i didn't get any reply from them regarding interview call.. so worried abt it.. usually when u'll come to know once they start processing yr application.. i call them and they said they don't tell u on phone regarding yr application status.. u just have to wait..

NYU won't start reviewing your app, until they consider it complete. In order for it to be complete, they need every single piece of document required. So that menas that your app wasn't complete until the 3rd week of October, regardless of when you mailed your app packet. So you have to start counting the time, since the 3rd week of October, which was just a few days ago. You'll have to wait a little longer.
 
hi everyone,
I have to decide the interview date for nyu ,betw'n nov 20th and dec 18 th .Can some one help me regarding this .My problem is Iam not mentally prepared for the 20th nov ...and also i have no idea how to prepare for the interview ..since i dont know anyone who ' s gotten into that school .On the other hand I feel dec 18th might be quite late and wonder if its better to get the interview at the earliest if it works on first come first served.
My upen interview is on dec 3 rd and bu on dec 11th.
pls post ur opinion asap,

lebelle...though the difference in the dates seem very far apart in reality the nov date its the 3rd interview and the dec date is the 4th interview...so its not that they have interviewd a lot of people if u decide on the dec date...moreover as it was discussed many times the interview is very general..u can look up the interview feedback....good luck for so many interviews,do u mind sharing how you would be travelling to all these places by road or plane...i missed quite some interviews cz i couldnt afford the flight expenses

I will be taking a flight to BU. Upen and nyu I suppose I can drive to with my husband. I live in MD ,so upen and nyu are of drivable distance .

Hi everybody,

I attended the NYU interview 2 weeks ago. My experience is to be yourself and they just ask you general questions about yourself and why dentistry and why NYU?

The day I gave my interview there were around 15 candidates.
and each interview lasted around 10- 15 mins.


This is my personal experience.

Thanks samsudri for posting your experience. when did you send your application? could you please post your stats? also could you please tell us your experience at NYU in detail, like how was the interview, how many people interviewed you, how is the college and facilities, what did they ask in the interview,when were they likely o announce the reults of the interview, etc. hope you do not mind. it would be a great help for us who are still waiting for an interview call.

can u tell me when did u post yr application and when did u get yr interview call notification.. i have sent my application in 3rd wk of oct. and i called them yesterday to know my app. status but they just told me my app. is completed and they don't tell app.status on phon.. i might get call btw 2day and march...

so how long it will take to review application.. can u share yr scores of part 1 and toefl please..

Hi guys,

Admissions office in NYU works ridiculously slow. I?ve sent my application at the end of September. In the second week of October I got the letter from them that I need to send another letter of reference, what I did immediately (I sent it overnight, right to admissions office). So, to make a long story short I called them today (like I did last week) and they told me that they didn?t get it yet, that my letter might be already in the
Mail but they just didn?t have it yet. And the funniest thing is that they told me I shouldn?t worry about because they defiantly will have my latter very soon.
I hate their stupid system, I am sorry but I am so frustrated right now I don?t know what to do

I agreee delfina...i too posted my appltn in mid sept.but i havent yet heard frm them. Trust me ..i feel the same way u do..."FRUSTRATED"!!!!😡

i have my interview at nyu on nov 20th.....
can u give some details abt the school like ......if it has any program thats diff from the other dental schools.....
i f u could give some more in put abt the q's it will be helpful.
One more thing....... generally how is everyone dressed?
I do have a suit ...but I was just wondering ..........if the inner wear can be a wollen top or needs to be shirt only?
hope u dont mind answering these q's for me ...this is my 1 st interview and Iam pretty nervous..

lebelle,i have seen other students wear the inner other than a shirt...but let it not be something to be noticed...soemthing like a shirt is always better but if u thinnk the woollen is conservative as well like nothing in bright colors u can go ahead
 
Hi ,

As i had written earlier they just ask you general questions about yourself and your interests, goals etc.

Dress Code....My best bet is wear a nice suit in which you are very comfortable either a shirt or a sweather.

hey lebelle..i applied in mid september...
i had an 87 in ndbe..257 in toefl...my gpa was soo bad..was 2.63
Wonder why they havent sent me any replies.....i hope they dont consider the gpa's so seriously!!!!!!!!
now if u have applied in mid oct...shudnt i have also recieved mine....🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

did you call NYU? call them up to find out whats your application ststus.There may be something missing thats why they didnt send you reply. Because NYU people never review application if it is not complete or something is missing in your file.

hi ivshah,
I did call them ..almost everyday...
1)i asked them whether my application was complete..they replied they have all my documents....
2) when will my application be reviewd..they said..they cant tell..but will notify me by post once it is reviewed.
3)i asked approx how long will it take to gimme an answer...they said..no answer!!!

Am gonna chk my mail box today..(as usual every morning,!!!...the post man thinks i have a crush on him..that i wait for him to come.Least does he know ,its the mails and not him that i look fwd to!!!!
 
anyone who has applied in October 3rd week heard anything from NYU? +pissed+
