I just got one! And it's pre-Dec (barely though). It's my first one so I'd say I'm pretty anxious. What's the vibe there? Was it a laid back interview or really formal? Is it safe to book a flight out of NY in the late afternoon or do the interviews tend to be late?

Relax, it's a really laid back interview.. It was my first also and I regret bieng so nervous.. My interview was maybe 5-8 minutes and they only asked me two questions, why NYU and to explain how I maintained a high GPA while working so much. Very nice people, and don't fly out till the next day so u can do a little bar hopping

Extremely laid back, everyone in the admissions office is super nice and everyone has a great sense of humour. Interviews will vary in length depending on the style/demeanour of your interviewer; some like to talk about themselves a lot, but all will just want to have a friendly chat with you. Very low stress.

Interview day for me ended around 1:30 after lunch.

low stress interview, nothing to worry about. very basic and can be very general as well. if you're a girl wear flats after the interview because you might be walking up staircases.

I have heard mixed stories about NYU interviews. Some people say it went great, others said it was very stressful. The school is very large so you can basically have any one of the diverse staff people interviewing you, so it will vary.

And yes girls, wear comfortable shoes, the tour is tons of walking!

The group was not too large. 10-15 people tops.

The guy who interviewed me barely commented or spoke much, and said that my 21AA was (as he waves his hand) not a 24 or 25... What does that even mean? lol He was also quite unresponsive during the interview. Who knows, he might have hated me, or loved me lol 😀

My interviewer didn't talk english too goodly.

Haha, maybe had the same interviewer. He looked Korean, or maybe Japanese, but more Korean. lol
