Did anyone else get two letters dated AUG 5th 2005 from NYU saying that "your application is now under review and that more acceptances will be in the form of no interviews." Thing is they sent me this in aug which i didnt get till mid-sep. Now I got the same letter today. Seems like they're really unorganized up there.

Yes i agree with you that NYU is very mess up and unorganized. I only received one letter saying my file is completed. At first, I called and talked with two different admission ladies. They both said they didn't get my transcripts and it's aadsas's job to send them in. I told them aadsas doesn't send transcripts anymore and they said that they didn't aware of that and I should send them in myself. SO, I gathered all my transcripts the next day and sent them out. A day later, I received a letter from them saying my file is completed?! (they didn't need my transcripts and i just wasted my $ to request transcripts from school and certified mailed them) stupid nyu.

That's kind of sad to hear about NYU. I hope they'll gather their act soon.

Yeah the samething happened to me, they told me they didn't receive my aadsas application at all. I made aadsas resend it, and bam thats when I got that letter saying it was under review. They really either do not know what's going on or just don't plain care.

Same here, I only got a letter said that my file was complete. Then nothing after that. I called them a while ago, and this lady told me that they sent me a letter on Sep 16 and I should receive it soon. But hey, it's almost the end of October. I haven't got nothing!

no interview? which means someone will get accepted without interview?

yes, but those usually aren't run-of-the-mill applicants.

I think NYU IS going to send bunch of acceptances w/o interviews since they need to fill their large class and they do not have much time left for interview.

I agree that NYU is totally disorganized. And for anyone that knows her, Amy Knowles no longer is a part of the school. So for people that corresponded with her for the last several years--like me!--she's not going to be there to look over your application.

I think they still have alot of time. Schools do interviews all the way thru April and May. Now, the problem is that they may not get the students with high stats because most of them would have their deposits sent to the other schools that accepted them by then.

But with the number of applicants this year, there would be enough applicants with 3.4 and 18+ DATs left for NYU.
