Does does anyone know how NYU will notify us about acceptance/waitlist/rejection? Do they do email, letter, etc? Just curious about what to look out for.

Here is a bit of advice from last years experience:
The first acceptances go to people (about 5 applicants) in December by email than snail mail.
The second acceptances go to people go to people (about half the class) in Late January/Early Feb.
The third round and last (non-waitlist) acceptances (the other half of the class) go out in lateFebuary/ early march.
I got my acceptance via email then snail mail.
the rest of the months are waitlist movements. Roughly 25% of the class is WL movment. 10 MD/Phd candidates with a class size of 156 this year (c/o2008).
From experience when they say "expect to hear something by X date"...tack on an extra month to that for the real date. If you don't hear anything by late March, you have most likely been waitlisted/rejected.
