NYU OOS vs IS

Hey everyone! So I was looking at the ADEA dental school explorer and saw that NYU doesn't have a preference for IS vs OOS. But in their admissions states they take 139 out of 470 IS applicants vs taking 250 of 3000 OOS applicants, I'm kind of confused because doesn't that show they prefer IS?

It's a private school. It doesn't have a preference. From your numbers, the majority of the class is OOS so...

No. Also people from NY applying and matriculating into a local school more often isn’t rocket science.

well oos kids are less likely to go if they have other offers
