Does NYU notifies applicants about receiving scholarship only at the time of acceptance? Do they give scholarship after we send the deposits?

I got a scholarship in the same envelope with my acceptance letter. As people turn down scholarships they might give those scholarships to people already with acceptances though...

I didn't apply for it. It was just awarded to me. It was merit-based. It was a certain amount each year assuming I kept a 3.2 in dental school. Let's just say it was a significant amount, but still not enough to make NYU cheaper than UTHSCSA for a texas resident...

rather than saying it's a significant amount, why don't you just say what the amount is? You are apparently not going there anyway, what does it matter?

25K/year. i just turned my scholarship down, so hopefully it will go to someone who really wants to go there.
