Haven't heard anything from both schools since July even though I was in second batch.

Is this sign of getting a rejection?

Getting nervous because others with later-mail-date are getting interviews

Maybe they haven't gotten to your application yet. For Upenn, they do everything by mail, so make sure you check your mailbox.

Dunno if "first come, first served" is really a valid theory anymore. People who applied later than me have gotten interviews at schools that later on gave me interviews.

Although I admit 4 months seems a tad long.

I'm a bit confused as to why you haven't received interviews from a lot of places, namely UCLA. Your stats are pretty up there.

its probably because you are international student. Sorry to say so, but I got my NYU invite and I applied after you. I think they have an international quota and maybe they already filled it. But then again you were very early, so in theory you should have been reviewed. But there are a lot of factors at play 🙁 call NYU maybe that will help. I called them last week and this week I got the invite. Maybe its by chance, but hey it never hurts 🙂

sorry to say this, but the head of admissions for penn said she reviews the applications/supplementals as they come in. so the earlier you turn it in, the earlier it'll be reviewed and they select interview spots as they go. i took that to mean that they review and send with respect to when you turned in your app but i wouldn't say it's 100% for sure that you got rejected or anything. it's just what i heard. regardless, you have very good stats!
