I was wondering which schools one would choose and why?

1) 9-5 traditional lectures can turn you off if you have the attn span of a gnat (like yours truly)
There's a lot of talk on the message boards about Temple's integrated system - they don't have the "traditional" 9 to 5 lecture schedule.9-5 traditional lectures
That's tough. They both have really good reps. Temple has the best "name" in Philadelphia other than U. of Pennsylvania and is one of the best places in the country for clinical experience. And NYU is extremely well thought of in NYC.Originally posted by darkhorse

For those that look down on it being in the city, they are missing the point that this is the reason that Temple can offer their students exposure to some of the best clinical experiences in the United States...specifically because of the area that they serve. I've been to Temple's campus... it's pretty cool and not scary at all (unless you're someone who has trouble being in "the big city")NYU-Bellvue residency programs in certain specialties such as Internal Medicine and Dermatology are considered among the most highly regarded in the US.
There is a DSS built into the semester (directed self study).Originally posted by ussdfiant
Except for being more like 8 to 3, how is our lecture schedule not traditional?

I just looked at the first three weeks of our schedule. We started on a Thursday, so that will encompass 12 days.
On 5 of those 12 days (almost half), I was done by NOON with lecture !
The other days ended at 3, but the Noon days have been nice. 😉
If you were comparing Columbia to Temple, then I'd say that Columbia has the better reputation.I think that NYU has a better reputation than Temple, but if you think that living in a large city be a problem, that will be a critical decision.
