I am an international students so I believe cost of two schools are about the same.

Btw, I am also asking for a friend. If she submitted a letter of intent to NYU but got an offer from Penn that she want to go to Penn instead, how legit is the letter of intent? Would school force her to go to NYU?

In my opinion it just feels unethical for her do this...
It's also unethical to eat meat, slack off when your boss isn't around, and to buy diamonds but here we are with all those things being incredibly common.

John 8:7 adapted in this context would be he who is without ethical compromise cast the first stone, or judgement.

Thanks everyone for commenting on my friend’s situation. But could anybody give me suggestions in NYU vs. USC please

I wouldn’t put myself in this situation and wouldn’t apply to those schools, but to each their own.

If I had to pick I would think about it hard. From what I’ve read the state of California is very saturated dentist wise, add on ridiculous rent prices, and the absurd tuition price and you have a recipe for disaster. I **** you not, the dentist I shadowed (in a different state) had a dentist working for him from USC still paying off his loans, and this dude is in his late 40s or older. On the plus side the weather is nice, outdoorsy, and people are attractive.

For NYU, I believe the situation is better saturation wise, but don’t quote me on that. There might me student housing to offset the costs. But the tuition is still going to be killer.

I would look into the student housing situation, and tuition prices, and if that’s about even then I would go to where you see yourself being happier lol I would probably go to NYU, but again I would never put myself in that situation. Best of luck

I chose NYU in the end because I thought clinical wise I thought I would be getting the most out of it. In addition I am also interested in research and if you are too then NYU has great programs.

Despite the price there are good things about NYU such as their new disability clinic, the way they split the 300 students

Yeah it's 300 students but you're split into groups of 30 or less and really only see 300 during exams

As for housing if you're willing to commute to NYU rent can be as low as $500 with roommates if you live outside of the Manhattan borough
