NYU vs. VCU vs. ASDOH ?

I got into these 3 and I'm having a hard time deciding for very different reasons….

NYU pro: the city is awesome, well-branded, lots of specialties
NYU con: expensive as heck, I've heard students are miserable?

VCU pro: in state for me so cheaper, great research opportunities (they're starting a joint DDS/Ph.D program in 2015)
VCU con: I have never left the state of VA in my life -_-

ASDOH pro: West coast!!! and the students look super happy, and they're super community service oriented, and you travel for 3rd and 4th year rotations (I think)
ASDOH con: really expensive still, absolutely no research opportunities


Any input would be great, thanks!!!

Distance to family and tuition cost come first, so definitely go with VCU.

If you pick NYU over VCU you are insane.

definitely not NYU... ASDOH is great however, VCU is great also and cheaper for you! you can leave VA once you graduate 🙂

Hey! Thanks to everyone for posting this and for answering it. I've narrowed my acceptances to three schools too. I didn't apply to NYU, so I know nothing about them but mine are VCU, ASDOH and Minnesota. I have reluctantly decided to decline Minnesota (an amazing, amazing school) for a few reasons:
1) OOS tuition 2) Serious Frigidity 3) Far away from anyone i know. So, I'm really down to two: ASDOH and VCU!
ASDOH pros: 1) Warm and gorgeous. 2) West Coast living, 3) Happy students and happy faculty 4) my family is moving there in the next few months to a year, and I'm very close to them. 5) Campus is in safe area
ASDOH cons: Expensive.
VCU pros: In-state Tuition. LOVED the school (just got a great vibe from them and the students).
VCU cons: 1) Away from family (they're moving) 2) Weather not as sunny and nice. 3) dangerous surroundings/high crime rate.
I'm not planning on specializing and would love to hear more as you find out more about each school.
