Hi Everyone! This may seem like a very broad topic, but I was wondering if someone could provide insight on NYU's procedure for selecting applicants off their wait list. I was wait listed in December and haven't heard from them since. Thank you for your help.

Call the director of admissions and express your sincere desire to attend the school. During my interview she said couple of the ones that did that ended up getting an offer. They know they're not the first choice for many students. Having someone tell them that you really want to attend may give you the slight favor you need to get an acceptance.

Based on past NYU waitlists threads, it seems that movement starts in the first week of April and then goes all the way until August. I interviewed in late February and was waitlisted about two weeks ago. This whole waiting game is so nauseating

Has anyone heard back yet? I e-mailed them and they said that the waitlist does start moving in April but they can't give out any other information than that.

Application cycles are stressful enough as it is, the last thing anyone needs is some bozo publicly embarrassing them about it.
@cyclohexane101 email the school and ask them, it would be your best bet. Hopefully they can provide you with the most accurate update. Best of luck to you!
