Hey, I interviewed during the first week of march. Just got my letter stating im waitlisted, which sucks. Anyone know if they have ranked the list so far or any info. regarding this.
 
sorry about the waitlist. I believe they haven't started looking at the waitlist.. and will continue not to until after april begins.
 
just found out that im also waitlisted
 
NYU waitlist is 200 students long...🙄

im waitlisted also- where did the 200 come from? does anyone know how many people they usually end up taking off the waitlist?

My interviewer told me there were about 40 spots left when I had my interview in the end of Feb. So, I thought we have a good chance to get in...🙁
 
I was there last week, overheard over a lot of people on the waitlist. Interviews should be ending this month, with 2nd deposit due on April 1st. Waitlist should be moving sometime in the middle of april when they know who is serious about attending.
 
i dont think ppl on the waitlist get a formal rejection. it doesnt work that way. u can get in anytime up to the 1st week of classes when ppl drop out at the last second.

nyu waitlist moved very well last year..will probably be the same this year. dont lose hope. i know im not
 
NO the number is not up to 200 yet...This is from last year, I figure it be pretty similar this year. Schools with 100 seats end up having 60 waitlist students. So with NYU's 232 seats, 200 makes sense.
 
you're right anon..i believe it is close to those #'s. but dont let that number scare you off too much. ALOT of waitlisted students ended up getting accepted to other schools..freeing those spots up. to get waitlisted at NYU means you had pretty good stats..so its highly likely that these ppl got acceptances elsewhere. also i know of 2 people who got in last year a couple days before classes started. its not as improbable as one might think...im actually quite confident of getting in off the waitlist. but just to be sure im redoing my DAT's in late april to help push me to the top of the pile.
 
I have searched old threads on this forum and few people said there were only 7 people got in off the waitlist last year. I don't know who is right or wrong. Some people say a lot of waitlisted students eventually receive acceptances. Other people say very small number of waitlisted students get in NYU. I am confused.

no way! i know of at least 5-7 personally that got in off the waitlist. odds of them being the only ones accepted are zero.
 
in fact some of those were accepted in august..one of them the day before classes started!

I got a phone call two days ago asking if I was still interested!...I said yes and she told me that she will go ahead and send the acceptance package..

So..I guess that have started picking ppl off the waiting list..Good luck to all!

she basically said that 7 ppl were waitlisted in the 2006 cycle and that 5 eventually got in. probably got that off predents.com or something which is obviously only a small sample size. i wouldnt put too much stock into it

Congrats! I am also waitlisted and I hope I get in as you did. Do you mind if you share your stats?

OMG! They still invite me for interview in April 11....wat is my chance???? I booked an airplane ticket and hotel already...I dun want to go for nothing":scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:

I also received a letter yesterday stating that I was waitlisted. Let's keep the faith guys! NYU waitlist is supposed to move fast right?

i've been waiting by my phone for the past 5 days, i was hoping to hear from them this week. didn't know they are on spring break 🙁

the lady told me its probably going to take couple more weeks

Yeah I think last year's waitlist started moving sometime in mid to end of April. Wish all of you guys good luck!

Hmm April 10, Thursday next week! I think I have to skip school 🙁 On the other hand I get to go to NY! Anyone else going to be there?

That could be a good sign though~ If they're interviewing you this late they must've liked your stats! Did you apply late? I had my interview on the 24th of March and got a letter on the 31st.

I will be there on April 11. I have to skip 3 classes, and flight from CA. I hope for the best. Gud Luck to yo all

Yeah I applied super late... as in end of November late. I sure hope its a good sign because this is my only chance for this year, excluding USC which I haven't heard from since December.

Thank you very much I hope this will be a memorable trip with gooood results! Anyone interviewing on the same day as me (Thursday)? I have the entire day to kill before sleeping at JFK airport. It'll be 1 day of homelessness in NY!

Guy who interviewed me was kind of an *******. Kept interrupting me and saying stuff like he knew everything there was to know about life. Whatever, I had a good interview but there was alot of other people there (like 9). They've been interviewing the entire week too. No Financial aid presentation, the student that was supposed to tour us wasn't there, a guy ran by us and told the group not go to NYU cause it sucks here. Otherwise, NYU looks like a factory rather than a school. I think it is a good fit for me as a student though, and I would like to go there for at least 1st year and maybe try a transfer out to a Canadian school. 4 years in NY wouldn't be bad either, but I'll feel like a nobody if I don't make contact with my professors.

Oh well that's my rant. Guess I should probably be studying for classes at a school I'm actually attending and have finals for in 2 weeks!
