Nyu Waitlist !!!!!!!!!!!!

Guy who interviewed me was kind of an *******. Kept interrupting me and saying stuff like he knew everything there was to know about life. Whatever, I had a good interview but there was alot of other people there (like 9). They've been interviewing the entire week too. No Financial aid presentation, the student that was supposed to tour us wasn't there, a guy ran by us and told the group not go to NYU cause it sucks here. Otherwise, NYU looks like a factory rather than a school. I think it is a good fit for me as a student though, and I would like to go there for at least 1st year and maybe try a transfer out to a Canadian school. 4 years in NY wouldn't be bad either, but I'll feel like a nobody if I don't make contact with my professors.

Oh well that's my rant. Guess I should probably be studying for classes at a school I'm actually attending and have finals for in 2 weeks!

I just got the waitlisted letter today...That sucks! I'm losing hope in this cycle. 3 interviews= 3 waitlisted ...Sigh!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

3 interviews = 1 rejection and 2 waiting list

interviewed on 4/10 with Dr. Dawson. received the waitlist letter 4/21. this is the only school i interviewed at. the uncertainty is excruciating...
 
I got off the waitlist. Was put on there Mid march.

i believe they are calling people with extremely high dat scores now i.e TS=22 or up

congrats qwerty. is NYU your first choice? you had mentioned that you are on the waitilist for 2 other schools.
 
i called today and was told that they adcom is going thorugh the waitlist right now. anyone got the call from NYU?

lol when I called last week, I was told the adcom won't go through the waitlist until end of may
 
they must hate me. When i called he said when it gets closer to august.

I just got a call from NYU to invite me for an interview for the waitlist...I've never in my life heard of interviews for the waitlist. I also live in Canada and am trying to decide whether to come down to NY for the interview.

Has anyone else ever heard of this? Or have any experience with this? Thanks!

Yes, it happens. Check out some UoP threads and you'll know.🙂

If this is your only interview, by all means ... GO! NYU's wait list shows massive movement.
 
Bugs...hope you're right about the movement on the waitlist. That would be good news for thsoe of us on the waitlist already.
 
I just got accepted to another school. I will be withdrawing my acceptance soon and one more seat is going to be available. Dont lose hope guys! 👍
 
More people being added to the waitlist? Isn't there some 200+ already? I haven't seen many people on this thread get off the waitlist. UGH OH...Hope this doesn't mean we're not competetive.

Well, I've already had a couple of interviews here in Canada but I don't hear back from most of the universities till June/July so I guess there's no harm in giving NYU a shot if as you say the waitlist moves fast...

Go for it! Canadian schools are never a guarantee, sadly. I'm also waiting on one, but by the time I hear from them, I'd be settled in Boston!😛

I dont see why are they interviewing for waitlist? I figure they already have buncha people on there.
 
I just let go of my seat at NYU so good luck to you!
 
Anyone hear from NYU? It well into May already...Hope to hear from them soon, before have to fork out another $1K for the 2009 cycle.
 
It seems last year at this time there was way more action. Maybe less people are posting on sdn about their acceptances... or they are just doing everything later.
 
Are there any updates? Any friends of friends getting calls right now from nyu? I can't believe nobody is posting any info here.

I called the school last week, and they said "it's too early for the movement of the waiting list"..I think we just need to wait til' June

Sup bros and ladies. I called NYUCD last week. Class is FULL, waitlist will move pending transcript verifications/withdrawals. Looks like our waitlist rampage is coming to a grinding halt soon...

i actually thought the class would fill way earlier than this. hopefully the waitlist will move like it did last year. a bunch of my friends and sdn'ers i know got in off it..some a few days before classes started!

Oh wow congrats! Still grinding my teeth (lol) here waiting.........
If you don't mind me asking, what are you stats (mainly DATwise, I'm 20/20/20 and still seem to be getting beat by 21AA people). Doesn't really matter I guess, you gave me some hope.
 
CONGRATS RM47!!! Hopefully this is the beginning of the waitlist movement we've all been waiting for. Hope you don't mind me asking when you interviewed. I interviewed in April.

thanks! I interviewed on March 7th. DAT scores 20/21/17. didn't interview anywhere else so i'm really lucky/happy. good luck!

Well, they are not soley going off the DAT then. Congrats on getting in. Good luck to the rest of us waiting..

This has got to be the most excruciating time in my life. I've been waitlisted since December 2007. I'm glad to hear that some are getting in though! Congratulations! I'm starting to lose hope though, I just thought the waitlist would move faster than this. :scared:😕:help::bang:
