So, I am waitlisted at NYU. I tried to search for NYU waitlist movements for previous cycles but only found out that those posts were for later waitlists around May.
Does anyone know how NYU waitlist move after Jan 15th?

Thank you.
I am a bit worried since there is no rank provided for NYU waitlist. And I heard they have a lot of people in the waitlist.
Well only 63 of the 134 who interviewed have updated their status. I imagine if they were accepted the would have updated it a little quicker.not according to predents
i will also be most likely withdrawing from NYU. I'll do it within the next week so all those of you who are patiently waiting can hear back. Gluck to all who have yet to hear from somewhere! Don't lose hope 🙂
Is anyone up for calling NYU and ask whether there are ranks in the waitlist?
it's not ranked. was on it last year. after they finish interviewing in march they start going through and calling people to see if they're still interested in attending. it then gets whittled down and moves fairly well up until august..
I see. I saw a few people who got off waitlist on Jan. I guess that is not an usual case. In what order do they call people though?
Any Canadians got their waitlist/rejection letter yet?
ya im still waiting. looks like waitlist for us..
Can I ask you where you are ?
I guess it is normal that a regular mail takes this long...
Hey don't give up hope. I was waitlisted for a month, then accepted (in March and April, respectively). It's all about how dedicated and determined you are in choosing NYUCD as your top choice.
What does getting in after being wait listed have anything to do with dedication to a particular school? Everything is said and done on your part at that time...Hey don't give up hope. Really? How exactly does one do that effectively? Not true. Those who remain active and develop rapports with the admissions director(s) and make attempts to improve their application have a better shot of getting in then those who stay silent. Eventhough I hate the word pro-active..it really does factor in to these types of situations
Oh I wasn't aware of all that. That's good then, keep up on things!if you look at the last year posts you will find that NUY sent out an email last year to respond with letter of interest if applicant still interested. At this time schools specially those large private ones have 4000 applications and do not know who got accepted and not interested anymore, who just applied to even the odds and who actually put their school as their top choice...
send your updates EC, grades, short personal letter why you are so interested in this school and how you will compliment their student body...
schools do print out your emails and add to your file to be considered....
It might not help but I do not see how this could hurt....

So you are a D1 student at NYU now?
You're absolutely right, I agree. I just wasn't aware there was anything you could do beyond your interview. It shows that you aren't just using NYU as a 'backup' and that you are truly interested in attending a great dental school. I had two classmates last year who were also waitlisted at NYU but never showed any interest and was not accepted. They ended up reapplying this cycle. It does make a difference.
How exactly i can show my interest to NYU? I attended their open house, had a wonderful interview, showed them my passion For their school and sent them a thank you email. But i got waitlisted ?
So now i dont know how to be proactive because i finished my BS last year, i have done research, dental experience etc..........
What kind of updates i can give them any advice would be so helpful because i really want to attend their school.
Thanks
I was on the waitlist since Dec 1st, and I got in a few days ago..

how did you get your acceptance? phone or aadsas update or mail?
just wondering
snail mail
wow. good for u! are you going?
and were you active calling them or improving your application?
Any one else got accepted from the NYU's waitlist so far....?
I received a letter in the mail today. NYU is an extremely receptive school to all of your requests. I called once a month and asked to speak to Dr. Mejia. Although I never spoke to her over the phone, I'd leave a message on her voicemail and she'd respond to my call via e-mail. When I spoke to her last, she said that people will start being pulled off the waitlist after Feb. 1st.

Were you waitlisted and got in today?
When you called them, what did you talk about??
I spoke with somebody in the admissions today & the lady said that NYU is still interviewing untill this spring. Also, there is no movement in the waitlist yet, its going to take a while but if you have any updates send them to us.
