Did not fail but remember a few in my class did. If you fail a certain number of the 10 total practicals you have to do remediation. From our year that entailed an extra month of GDS while the other D1's were on summer break. Keep in mind they give opportunities towards the end of the course to retry some of these practicals. So you only 'fail' if you are unsuccessful in these as well.

Not too sure how many classes you are allowed to fail/re-mediate, but I believe it is three. You either re-take the final or the entire class depending on your exam grades. I hope someone with more input could chime in.

D2 here and I've found that the only classes that require attendance are the bull**** classes eg sapl. Usually what happens is about 95% of the class is studying for the sciences during that time and are only there because it's mandatory.
