The purpose of this thread is very simple. Just to know more about our future classmates! 🙂 "CLASS OF 2013"

Maybe, some of participants can meet each other at their own local areas if available.

2. South Korean
3. F-1 international student
4. Cornell BS (Ithaca, NY)
5. I am in Seoul Korea now.
6. 30 (Born in 1979)
7. Republic of Korea Army (2yrs and 2months)

My primary purpose is to find Korean international students.

I believe a few of them maybe in Korea. If I can gather more than 4-5, I can meet them here even just for fun.

no, that guy is not "weird"....but the way u present yourself isnt in the best light either. there is nothing wrong with wanting to associate with koreans....but you are being pretty ethnocentric in my opinion. NYU dental doesn't accept students for them to form cliques of national countries. you can go join KSA for that....so don't turn your dental school into one. just some advice, you will alienate your classmates as you have already done to a few SDN members. who would want to talk to you after you posted something like this? who would vote for obama if he said he would only help black people?? exactly.....that is how your post makes me feel.

and i'm also asian, speak my language fluently, and was born in another country other than the US.....and i still take offense at your attempt to be exclusive in case you were thinking i was intolerant of other races. its obvious that no one else has posted anything positive so maybe you should just post on cyworld and not on the NYU facebook in korean.

He is not attempting to be exclusive. I'm sure if he were to meet others he wouldn't exclude them. He is simply trying to find something familiar in a new country... I'm sure you can understand how difficult that might be... especially for students who do not have parents in the US.

Clearly his english is not great... so maybe you shoudl take everythign he says less seriously... as I'm sure he doesn't mean it to come off sounding like that but its the best he can say it. If he was that "weird" i'm sure he wouldn't have gotten past the interview stage for dental schools....

He is just trying to make friends that might make him feel more at home. Get over it> I agree with kss and don't post if you are just going to bash him.

It's really almost impossible to find them. Look at here. Nobody Korean F-1 status international students are posting his/her thread. I just want to talk with them. (About my local area! ) Who knows if he's my neighbor in Korea? This time, u guys were a bit sensitive. 😍

In one word, u are too sensitive. I am a Korean, and I can use Korean at anytime. I am also a NYUCD student, so I deserve to use the facebook in the way I want.

I can't find anything that is offensive in my threads and posts. Simply, u have no right to control what I say unless my words are truly offensive. I am really surprised to confront this response. Don't forget I am a NYUCD dental student.

Why don't u just say hello to ur new classmate? Maybe, u can just introduce other Korean international student instead with generiosity and flexibility.

Even so, as u seem to be one of my future classmate, I just want to believe u were tired when u said I am ethnocentric.

Logically, NYUCD students who are international students with F-1 visa status should use the Facebook instead of KSA. KSA is just for all international students.

Clearly, you're the sensitive one with the "story-telling" complaint. People have different personalities: he wants to meet his peers who are in korea right now. It's as simple as that.
