I just got the email from NYU that they got my caapid app but despite sending them.mails so as to check whether they have received my supplemental app..they aren't responding..And I have heard they hv started calling candidates for interviews..

NYU interview candidates till March end unless they made some changes.
 
Guys what kind of programs are u discussing here ?

cause i got an interview on the 17th Jan for an international program !
 
NYU cannot finish interviewing 200-250 odd people if they call 5 people evry tuesday thursday till feb 16th so it is understood that NYU interviews till march end to finish even 200 students if not 250.
 
Hi i got an interview call...does anyone have any idea about the total expense of taking up this school?? its seriously expensive..can anyone share their interview experience..it will b very useful also any one interviewing on 31st jan??

are NYU calling only people who have given DAT or have they sent invites to people with numerical score in NBDE also
 
My stats r
Nbde 1 = 86
Nbde 2 = pass
Gpa= 3.51
Toefl= 101
Work experience in home country and u.s

Can anybody tell me what would be the cost of living and how much would everything cost...is it approx the same as mentioned on their website or is it way higher than it??
 
Dont know whats on the website, but it is around 300 k dollars for 3 years... its like 100k every year... i mean this figure is variable coz everyone spends money differently , some party every night, some live far from school and eat less, or prefer starving 😉 or whatever.. you get what i mean.. If you really try hard, then you might take it to 95k per year... But still !! I hope i helped !!

what the school website mentions is in a way the maximum...most if not all manage well within that..you will approximately spend 1100-1300 a month in rent living in new york or newport (sharing with others)..eating..partying ..happy hours is all upto you to manage..

Appu what do you pay for rent in Newport? And ya If one gets one bed apt for 1100 - 1300 in NYC than thats a serious sale tactic.

As you feel this thread is peace of *** you must be knowing alot more than others aspiring dds people here... so you should enlighten others with your immense knowledge.. i mean everyone comes to a thread titled " nyu interview and acceptances" with alot of expectations that it would give alot of information about dds, all other universities, international program, dentistry as a whole, family values, president of norway, moral values and infact truth about life...and a little bit about nyu if possible !!! # SarcasmIFyouDontKnowWhatiMean !!! :idea:

hello everyone,, i jst wanna ask that does is there any token money which have to be deposit after getting the acceptance, actually i m international student, so me it is difficult to arrange money while there? i got an interview on 31st january..
 
Do you have any idea about, what do they ask in the interview. Can u please advise

You'll know about acceptance at least 2-3 weeks after your interview(it could be longer), if accepted you'll need USD 5000 check/money order/bank draft(I think from US bank) to be submitted within 2 weeks of receiving acceptance letter ......if you are waitlisted and later accepted(which will occur around April first week) then you'll need check for USD 5000 + fees of first term (correct me if I am wrong) ......I would suggest that you call admissions office and explain your unique situation and ask for guidance

Hi folks- just wanted to share that I received the interview call on Jan 16th. I know lot of people are waiting for the calls..please don't lose hope- there is light at the end of the tunnel. 🙂

I live in in Journal Square (jersey city) and live by myself in a 1 bedroom paying 1050 a month..and i mentioned that you will pay 1100 or more in new york on a sharing basis...that means a 2 bdrm in ny is approx $4000 so if 4 people stay together it comes down to approx 1100(with utilities n stuff ) ...p.s. i am not here for any sale tactics or anything..

you will have to put in a token of 5000\$ once accepted...i would suggest being prepared with that amount incase you get accepted and are interested in the school...

hello appu09,, i have got an interview on 31st january, can u pls intimate the name of the hotel in which u r presently staying at,,becoz it is damn cheap,,

hi congratulations...i am not staying in a hotel...i am 3rd year student at NYUCD...the info i was discussing was about the rents at various places in ny nj...but none the less ..when i had my interview i had stayed in hotel pennsylvania its on 33rd street and 7th ave...it was 99$ per night then...

there are no subject related questions...it can be just one question like "tell me about yourself" or random topics...commonly asked questions are strengths weaknesses future goals why nyu, why US, hobbies, any questions for us...they are mainly trying to see how well can you converse and how confident are you. some may ask you what difference do you see in the dentistry in US and your home country..what materials did you use..what company make composite or gic did you use...be yourself be confident and keep a smile.
