Can someone tell me if it's possible or worthwhile to beat the fall rush and go get a student ID card now? If some of the current or entering students would share how they went about getting a student ID card that would be great.

Can someone tell me if it's possible or worthwhile to beat the fall rush and go get a student ID card now? If some of the current or entering students would share how they went about getting a student ID card that would be great.

Not sure if incoming 1st years can beat the rush, but since NYU is making all of its students, staff, etc get new ID cards, they are allowing us to beat the rush.

Over the next few months, the University will issue the new ID cards to some 70,000 members of the NYU communitystudents, faculty, staff, and administrators. To get your new ID card quickly and easily, NYU has opened a new card center, located at 7 Washington Place (at the corner of Mercer and Washington). The University will open the new center to students beginning July 19th, so that students who are around during the summer can beat the fall rush. It should take just a few minutes to turn in your old ID and receive your new one, and the trade-in is free.
