how many of you guys know of cases where the oasis trick was incorrect.i mean where they let you register but eventually u findout that u passed ?
any input will be reallllllly appreciated
thanks

Being so sure I passed this time, I attempted to apply for Step 2 CK again, after my score was reported. When I did NOT get the lovely red print, I became suspicious and fearful...and was asking the same question as above...hoping someone would answer! At the end, I indeed did NOT pass, proving that the "trick" is flawless as far as I'm concerned.

Uh oh, I hope it doesn't work, because my score is now available -- and has been downloaded by many of my programs (it was set to download automatically)...
I was able to start going through the oasis process -- but I had tried doing it through the nbme process first -- hope that somehow messed things up?
I hope I will get the letter in the mail soon and find out I passed!

i tried to reregister using the NBME site before my scores were available. It let me get as far as asking for my credit card before I decided to call it quits and "accidentally" charge another $900 to my already overextended mastercard. Less than a week later, I found out that I passed. So fear not folks, it's not a foolproof trick.

The "trick" only works if the system says your score has been reported already...which only cuts the suspense by the few days it takes for the report to arrive in the mail.

Please explain this trick. Are you saying that scores reported on the web site may be incorrect as to pass/fail?

the trick is NOT flawless
My score came up as reported, I tried the trick and it started allowing me to register for CS again.
My results came in the mail yesterday and I PASSED
so don't freak out if this happens to you
so thrilled to not have to think about this stupid test again (except each month when it's time to pay my credit card bill!) RIPOFF

I echo what other people said in response -- I too got my results in the mail yesterday, and I passed. Oasis (the ECFMG site) I guess doesn't work uniformly for all US med students. If I went to the NBME site, it said that my score was reported. On the ECFMG site, it didn't say that it was reported, and in fact didn't at all have listed my step 2 CK test (which I took in September) -- it only had my step 1 listed. So although technically my score was "reported," the NMBE results hadn't yet made it into the Oasis system, so I was able to start re-applying for step 2 CS, making me worried.

i started this thread coz my friend was allowed to reapply, and that is his 2nd attempt, any ways its true at least in his case the mail came in ...he failed yet again.

I now realize that this "trick" only applies to IMGs using the ECFMG site...the NBME site I suppose does not have the same thing built in.
