So after studying tediously for about 5 hrs everyday this summer, I managed to score some pretty decent scores! 🙂

Total Science: 340
Academic Average: 330

This was a big improvement for me compared to my first attempt of TS:290 AA: 300. I just want to tell others to not give up! As frustrating as it may be you will get there in the end and reach your goals, and it is the best feeling ever!!!

I'm so ready to finish up my essays now and get this application process completed!!

What changes did you in studying make that brought about the better scores? Is there some sort of study strategy that you can recommend?

Congratulations on the good score!! If you don't mind me asking, how long did you study for and what study material did you use? I'm having the most trouble with physics and general chemistry

Well, I think I did terrible before because I took the first OAT in March in the middle of spring semester, and I didn't have much time to study for it when I had 4 other classes. So this summer I dedicated majority of my time to studying. About 5 hrs a day. I used Kaplan MCAT books for the biology, gen chem, physics, and organic chem since those were the only ones I found at the bookstores. I used the Kaplan OAT book for practice problems and the 2 full length tests.

Gen Chem and Physics were my worst subjects! I just focused most of my time on those 2 subjects. Just read concepts and worked on practice problems over and over again. When I took the practice tests in the Kaplan OAT book a week before my test date, I kept getting terrible scores below 300 for both gen chem and physics. It really discouraged me and freaked me out. I dont know why, but the problems on the actual OAT exam were a lot simpler for these 2 sections!!!

It's all about timing too!!! I tried to go through bio quick since that's my strong subject so i could leave more time for gen chem and organic chem.

When are you guys taking the OAT?

I want to take it in November, but I'm not sure if I would have enough time to study + do well in the classes I am taking.
