Hello, I just was wondering if anyone could explain to me how scores for the OAT work. I know the range is from 200-400 and its somehow scaled. Also what score should I be aiming for? I have a 3.9 GPA (4.0) science, lots of volunteer and experience with optometry.
-Thanks

I would say even a 330 (minimum, that is) would do.

330 can suffice, but usually if there's some high offset with GPA or some other aspect of the application. 360+ TS/AA would definitely be more likely to help you get your foot in the door for an interview.

mshea413, about the scaling of the OAT; there's a practice version of the OAT at opted.org (but I attached it because I remember it being annoying to find for some reason) and the last page of it shows how you would score each section.

It's different for each section. Also something to take note of: on the opted.org example test, the reading section is about the third of the questions on the original, so the scale for the actual test would be different.

Something I heard that maybe someone else could validate: I was told they throw in random questions as "tests" for the upcoming tests that don't count towards your score.
