OAT without OChem II

Hi everyone,

Are both semesters of Organic Chemistry covered in equal amounts on the OAT? I am planning on taking the OAT in about 6 more weeks but I haven't taken Organic Chemistry II yet. I have been taking the Kaplan class and have been trying to study the new stuff on my own through Kaplan's materials.

Did anyone take the OAT without taking OChem II? How did you do in that section and what do you advise I do to prepare? Thanks!

I just took the OAT on Aug 20, 2009. For science classes, I have only taken Biology I & II, Physics I, General Chem I & II, and Organic Chem I. I did alright. Got a Organic Chemistry score of 310. TS was 320 and AA 330. I don't know much about Organic Chem II, and read some of the Kaplan Review Notes to cover it. I only put a couple days into O Chem studying, but didn't really go to memorize it...just get a idea of how some things work. I don't think someone who hasn't taken O Chem II could really help you with advice unless they really know their material very well. Also each school might cover a chapter or two more or less than the other schools. People who took O Chem II would have better advice since they would understand it more. I would say that if you're doing Kaplan course, you are pretty set if you memorize it. The test overall wasn't all that hard. Good luck.
