I am taking the OAT on june 4th. I am using the Kaplan study materials and all of my practice exams have been fine in every subject except physics...I took a weird alternative physics class that didn't require much work and now I am suffering for it. I never had to memorize equations or anything and we had take home short answer tests. I only have a week left and plan on spending the majority of the time on physics, so any suggestions of what I should do to get through the section?

Thanks 🙂

If you learn what the equations represent you'll never have to memorize them 🙂

I, too, struggle with physics but my professor wasn't really that good at teaching so I basically had to teach myself everything. I think it's good that you are spending most of your time on physics...One of the recruiters at SCO told me that physics is what students typically do the worst on when taking the OAT. I've heard that the physics portion is mainly concept questions not equations...I can't imagine...I've just taken a few practice tests! But I think you should just stick to practice problems and not spend too much time on Bio or RC since that's kind of either-you-know-it-or-dont! Good luck! I'm taking my test this summer as well!

this is so true.. memorizing equations won't mean you will do well on the OAT.. You will do a lot better if you actually understand the concepts behind the equations.

Thanks for the suggestions! The Kaplan review notes book does a great job explaining the concepts so I can understand the theory behind what the questions are asking. I am still not where I want to be, but with two more days of physics studying, there is still hope! Good luck to anyone taking the test this summer or fall! I will let you guys know how I did 🙂
