Any OB techs in the forums?

I was job surfing and came across a position for an OB Scrub Tech.

Here are the minimum requirements:

H.S. Diploma or equiv. 1 year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or a Certified Surgical Tech. Will be cross trained in labor and delivery, and mother/infant care.

What you do guys think going from cna to ob tech in relation to gaining direct patient contact?

At the hospitals I've worked at, you needed to be a scrub tech--if not certified, than at least graduated from a program. They may look at you with just a high school diploma, but don't expect to get the job unless you have connections. This is just my experience in one state at a few hospitals, plus some anecdotal evidence in other areas.

But, I have done a little OB in my time. I like sections--they're fun.

You'll have more direct patient contact as a CNA. OB scrub techs (any scrub techs for that matter) have very, very, very limited amounts of patient interaction.
