Who's the better candidate for us future dentists?

I'm going to say Obama. Sorry guys, seems he appears to be unpopular around here but I like him a lot more.
Romney's a liar and offers no solutions, only bad mouths the guy who's trying to fix things.
neither. politicians are all the same to me. they only care about certain interest groups who support them financially.

Romney, Obama scares the hell out of me. Have you ever seen dooms day preppers? Well I became one when Obama got into office
I would be more focused on the individual congressional races which seem to me more up in the air than the presidential race. I get the vibe that despite a recent surge in the polls, Romney is going to lose.
I feel it would be particularly nice, though not at all realistically possible, for Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont to lose his seat this cycle. Rep. Elijah Cummings from Maryland could also be problematic. I guess it's all how you look at it. Each Congressman introduced a version of the "Comprehensive Dental Reform Act of 2012", and have pledged to do so each year until it passes. On the bright side, it increases Medicaid coverage of dental procedures, on a darker note, it calls for the direct training of dental therapists by various government agencies. This would allow the military to use dental therapists it trains rather than rely on the HPSP program, and allow for more rapid training of midlevels prior to their (eventual) introduction into various states. Oddly enough it would also call for dental therapists to be trained by some agency that oversees federal prisons.

The better question is which person is better for the patients and oral health? Clearly Obama is. While I'm not particularly fond of either, it was the Dems and Obama that pumped money into the NHSC attempting to increase the number of physicians/general dentists serving indigent populations. Romney couldn't care less about the poor/underserved; he's never interacted with them. He doesn't view health care as a right, but as a commodity. I'm sorry, but in the 21st century basic access to health care is a fundamental human right and anyone who thinks otherwise does not deserve to be a doctor of medicine.
And while socialism is a terrible and failed system, universal health care and single-payer systems is not socialism. To equate the two is simply ignorant.
I'm also an NHSC scholar so naturally I'm a little biased between the two 🙂
Again, how anyone could vote for Romney, clearly an aristocrat who will say ANYTHING to get elected, is beyond me. I voted for McCain, btw, so I'm not a dem.

. Obama wants to move towards the whole junk way of practicing medicine like Kaiser, and put it all under the guise of 'cutting costs'. It is the Dems and Obama who are poison to private MDs, by slashing their reimbursement rates, but increasing the reimbursement rates to corrupt hospitals to adjust for inflation.Whether or not healthcare is a fundamental human right is a difference of opinion unfortunately. I'd have to agree with diasIItema and the UN on this because I think the values of liberty, freedom, and pursuit of happiness that America holds as ideals cannot be a reality if people are not free persons to act. Can a sick person with no options truly hope to pursue happiness let alone social mobility? Many are born into this country to a family with little means and I don't think they should be punished for it.Lol. You think Obama is good for patients. "I'm sorry, but in the 21st century basic access to health care is a fundamental human right and anyone who thinks otherwise does not deserve to be a doctor of medicine."
I find that comment of yours highly offensive. Health care is NOT a fundamental human right. Neither is education. Freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and pursuit of happiness are fundamental human rights. Healthcare is a commodity.I deserve to be a doctor of medicine just as much as anyone, so why don't you quit your fake holier-than thou attitude. Someone like you, who thinks that people who believe healthcare is not a right do not deserve to be a doctor, should not be a doctor themselves and deserves to live in a country like China that doesn't believe in freedom of speech.
Ron Paul was a dedicated OBGYN and his son was a skilled opthomologist (both of them have helped people more than you have) and none of them believe healthcare is a right. You represent the reason I don't like Dems. Libs try to cast anyone who disagrees with them as heartless. What are the little trial lawyers who fill Obama and the libs campaign coffers? Are trial lawyers angels, according to your philosophy?
Universal healthcare is socialism. To equate universal healthcare and single payer with capitalism is simply ignorant.

I'm not saying everyone deserves elective surgeries and procedures -- I think, though, that there is a baseline of healthcare that should be provided and paid for by taxes. America pays much more than any other country for healthcare but has the greatest number uninsured and so many without access to healthcare. Many of this is do to overhead and administrative costs that wouldn't occur with a single-payer system.
I also don't think capitalism and universal healthcare and a single-payer system are exclusive entities. Capitalism does very well in most markets but it fails with the environment and with healthcare because these are unique markets that present challenges that capitalism cannot fully overcome.
Also why are you so vehemently attacking someone and saying they deserve to live in a place without freedom of speech when you are getting mad precisely because of their freedom of speech? I understand this is something you are very passionate about, as many people are with this topic, but there's really no need to get aggressive. Lighten up man, it's a public and anonymous forum with people you will probably never meet. I'm pretty sure I've seen your name somewhere else along with anti-affirmative action speeches, I think. Lighten up and voice your opinions and concentrate on the real matter at hand: this admissions cycle haha.
You're wrong on that. I know the Governor personally and I place all my confidence that he cares. The better question is which person is better for the patients and oral health? Clearly Obama is. Ron Paul
im not attacking anyone. im expressing my opinion. did you see what he wrote? he says that because I think healthcare is not a right, I dont deserve to be a doctor. Why don't you call him out for that?😕 Also people have attacked me for saying comments that are nowhere as bad as his.
His view on people who think healthcare is not a right, sounds like a mullah in the Middle East who thinks anyone who disagrees with him shouldn't be allowed to do certain things.
So yes I will stand up for free speech. I'm proud of this country and Im proud of free speech.
I hope you fail to matriculate.
I'll enjoy my full ride AND serving the underserved while you're b*tching about your paycheck.
