Are Obama's health care plan and proposed CMS cuts related? If the former fails to pass will the latter also be killed? Would appreciate a response from anyone who knows.

What proposed CMS cuts? if you mean the proposed 20% cut next year to md's, that is the result of legislation put in place long before even bush II was in office.

Basically, for cost containment a law was written that physician's pay would have to be cut in order for medicare financing to grow at a sustainable rate. Every year it was voted on, and then postponed, because docs said that they would stop seeing medicare patients. But b/c it's the law, it can't just go away, it was put off until the next year. So that now it is up to twenty percent. I remember when it was 7.
