Some of the program directors have been giving us this info at interviews, obviously with gaps. But I think it's interesting and nice to know/share. Please add anything you find out so that we can all be informed 🙂

This is listed as number of applicants, number interviewed, number accepted, number matriculated

sigh...back to studying

whats a second interview?

Southwestern actually has two rounds (or cuts) of interviews, with the second one doubling as their second-look weekend in February.

I contacted a number of schools to get the applicants/interviewed/accepted/matriculants info (I have issues, I know). Is it ok if I post that?

haha by all means post that info!

if any SDN mods have an issue with that, i would guess that they would close the thread. but i think if the school gave you that information, it should be ok to post here. Q, if you're reading this...any thoughts?

UCLA really only accepts 10-12????

I believe that should be 10-12 matriculated. Only the website it says 10-12 "admitted" but I can't imagine that isn't class size. 10-12 admitted would give a very big class size.

I just talked to Dr. Martin. 12 is the matriculating class size (and she mentioned difficulty in luring studends there, although i cannot for the life of me imagine why) so they *must* accept more than that.

That's what I figured. Yeah, I don't understand why either. I loved UCLA. Maybe its coastal preference or competition from other top schools. I imagine that many people who interview at the top 15 interview at many schools and might get wooed away by prestige of other schools (although UCLA is certainly prestigious)

Anyone got stats on the MSTP at Minnesota? Anyone interviewing there in Nov???

Pretty sure the numbers on UCSF are not correct. It's one of the most popular programs to apply so I'd put it around 500ish. They accept exactly 16. I think they went to ~5 down on their wait list this past year.

Harvard accepts the number they can fund that year, so 8-10. Then accepts people off its waitlist when students decline. I believe 3 this past year.

long time, no talk, littleB. actually not that long.

littleb is correct. the 200ish number quoted only reflects md-phd applicants that were granted interviews by the medical school admissions committee. i think this year the true statistic will be calculated, based on how many people indicate md-phd in their primary applications.
