OCHEM 2 on DAT

hello,

i was wondering whether or not second-semester Ochem is on the DAT? i know class coverage will vary from school to school, but in general, what is the consensus?

i ask because there are some N-specific reactions in the Kaplan BB that we haven't covered in Ochem 1.

There is material from both semesters. Kaplan's books, in my opinion, cover the bare essentials of what you should know and only cover material you need to know.

you'd better take the second semester of ochem, if you wanna do good on the DAT

There are seemingly ALWAYS at least two aromatics question every practice test I've taken and on the real DAT, and I covered aromatics in my second semester, so yes, definitely.

Yes, there definitely is. And it's definitely beneficial to take Ochem 2 before the DAT as it will help with your overall understanding of the material.

thanks everyone. that really helps. i think i'm going to reschedule my DAT for after that class then as i wish not to shoot myself in the foot with a bad score 🙂
