Hi everyone,
I am an engineer and I am studying for taking the DAT. I have a question about Ochem:
I went through Chad's videos for General Chemistry and it is so good for me, I understand every single concept, and I feel pretty comfortable with them. But my problem is Ochem. I am on the second sets of the videos but I feel that I don't understand that much of these videos. Can anyone suggest me any elementary videos for Ochem before I go through Chad's videos.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Dr. Romano has read every Organic Chemistry Book on the market and feels the Organic Book by David Klein is the easiest to understand and good for review before attempting any test prep materials, especially if you have a weakness in this area.

Hope this helps!
Nancy

Start with Organic chemistry as a second language, by Klein. Then try his textbook and Odyssey. After completing those books, you will be good to go for Orgo.

Use Organic chemistry as a second language by Klein, Destroyer, Odyssey and Wade. Those books have great number of practice problems.

I am trying to plan my next semesters or so and have a question for anyone that has taken a Kaplan class to prep for the DAT. I am going to take the class in the winter, and my second semester of orgo in the spring. Do the classes just review material, or will I be able to learn the orgo 2 in the class? I plan on taking the test early summer or late spring, so I will have the class under my belt by then. I am just curious about the Kaplan class.

Orgo is a very difficult subject for most students and I always recommend you finish all the required classes before using any test prep company, book or class. It is always assumed when taking a prep class or prep book that you have completed the required classes.

Keep focused on your school work and your science GPA. You can always retake the DAT if necessary, but you GPA will follow you forever.

Hope that answers your question..Good luck in your studies.
