with less than 2 weeks to sept 12 mcat... i am worried abot the level of my ochem content review.. i try very hard to get the darn thing but i feel like i have forgotten what i learnt earlier on..and to make matters worse i am not even done with the damn thing..still have amines and cooh groups left..

is there a resource..that really helped you to get to the gist of ochem/ i don't have lots of time left ..maybe a website or something..pls help!

I got the same problem too! I am not a student with science background.
In these months, I've been paying tons of time in reading and tried to understand the OChem stuff. But no use at all after a week, nothing left in my mind.

Try to do more basic exercise like EK 1001. Don't think the questions are too easy, it helps refreshing your mind and build your OChem from very basic. It does help me a lot. (But I've only finished about 70% ><)

Different method suits different brain. But it seems doing practices is one of the most effective way. Wish you could find yours!

Hey, I'm not sure what book you've been using to study Orgo, but if you have limited time, then try to quickly go through EK Orgo - it's pretty condensed and just hits the stuff you absolutely have to know. I've seen some other people around here who weren't strong in organic chemistry also recommending EK Orgo over TBR Orgo and other companies because EK just stuck to the basics without confusing the reader too much.

However, I'm also using TBR along with EK, and from what I've seen and read, the passages are excellent review.

Try this website:
http://mcat-review.org/

It doesn't have all the topics, but has some important ones for Orgo
(eg. Amines http://mcat-review.org/amines.php)

TBR is way too long for content review and too in depth. I'm in the exact same situation. Just use the EK Organic to learn and if you have the TBR book on hand, use those for the passages. That's what I'm going to do. Good luck!
