I am retaking the DAT here in August and I was wondering what resources to look at for Ochem. I recieved a 19 on this section before, but I would like to bump it up to atleast a 22. Do you think chad's vids will help me with my goal, or are they just a place to start if you're rusty on the subject?

Thanks!!

Not everything that works for 1 person works for another.

What did you use last time when you studied?

Also, the questions you want to ask yourself is: Why did you do bad? Did you not know the material well? Did you find it difficult?

Ochem is for the most part, straight memorization. So if you've memorized all reactions/naming/rules you should be getting perfects. Find which portion of that component held you back last time and focus on that.

I've heard people using Chad's video, Destroyer, KBB, and Orgo chem Odyssey. And people can be successful with any combination, just depends on what works for you.

a 19 is a respectable score...were your others scores low or something?

For my first time I studied KBB, Barrons, and topscore for the most part. I really benefited from online videos from the khanacademy, especially for the general chemistry section. Thats the main reason why I thought chads would help a lot.

To answer gorilla's question, I got repectable science scores 19bio 19 oc 20 gc , but my 16 in qr really brought me down...bummer i know haha. I am not spending too much time on sciences, but at the same time I feel like I have plenty of room for improvement.

A lot of schools will look past a low QR score, so why didn't you apply? How is your GPA? If it was respectable, you would have had a good chance.

oh. I think be retaking, it might make you a little late though if you take it in august...but you never know I guess.

Well im just applying now with the scores I got...then notifying the schools to be expecting my new scores when i take the one in August (Thats what most schools advised me to do )
