hey guys, I hope everyone is studying hard..
No matter How many websites, ochem books, thread I read,
I can't seem to find a way to understand how to convert
Skeletal Carbon molecule/ Newman projection/ Fisher projection at all!!!
(not in particular order but you get the picture, right?--B/c I don't..😕)

so I tried several methods (looking down, drawing an imaginary eyeball looking at carbon backbone, trying to find a patter etc..) but I can't seem to find the "IT" method that I can use all the time. (some methods I used seem to work in some cases but not all...)

So here I'm asking for you guys help..
any tips, guideline would be really helpful...

Thank you in advance...

Let's stay alive people, stay alive... 😛

to picture if the group is solid line or dashed then picture a round circle head with a bow tie. The bow tie is fat and dark and it is the horizontal thing and has the groups which are projecting out of the plane. Vertical is not. So if you have H on horizontal you have to switch from R to S or vice versa.

FOr newman to fisher

write te front carbon and its subtituents as it is. with teh carbon in middle, top sub on top, left on left and right on right.

now for teh carbon behind ...right this carbon attached to bottoom of the top carbon. Now make the top sub of this carbon the bottonm sub, and switch the left and right subs of this carbon. you will have your fisher projection.

I wish i could explain it using picture but i have no clue how to paste a picture here. Newman_projection_butane_-sc.png

Fischer.gif

this is the best i could explain. I hope it will help
