Could someone tell me why the answer to the question i have attached is B and not C. I thought it would be C because the carbon at the center is attached to a Bromine, then oxygen and then the CHO. I thought you look at the only the atom it is directly attached to unless they are both the same.

Please help. Also since nobody answered my question on the other thread day before yesterday I will post it again in case it went unnoticed.

Here it is:
Would anyone recommend using examkrakers 1001 questions for GC and OC. I have a friend who recommended it to me but he's a medical student. But he did stress that doing those questions would prep me just as well. For times sake I just want a confirmation from any fellow SDNers/high DAT score getters if this would be a good resource to prepare for GC and OC.
Also does anyone have any ideas on how to efficiently prepare for bio? Should I be using my textbooks or just focusing on CliffsAP, DAT destroyer. I was looking into anatomy and physio textbook, human physio, cell biology. Would all that be necessary?

PLEASE provide any feedback.

Thank you

Br is heavier than OH>CHO>CH3 is the lightest.

I would say 3, Choice C....

I believe the answer should be C as well. Bromine receives priority 1, followed by Oxygen, and then CHO

as far as the exam krackers go: I bought the organic chemistry one and got about 700 questions in before stopping (sounds like a lot but the first 200 or so are EXTREMELY simple). It's good practice for learning but not for testing yourself over the material. It often asks multiple identical questions in a row which is good if you're trying to practice that kind of questions but bad if you're trying to see if you can recall it without help if that makes sense.

I definitely don't regret getting it but if I was short on time I would have skipped it

I have two months left still so I'm going through it as much as I can. I got C too but for some reason the answer in the solutions is different. Which is problem cause god knows what else I'm getting right or wrong. I hate how this test prep materials can be so erroneous. But thank you all for your help.

Look for similar problems type questions in textbooks and or other dat material.

Use 2-3 sources for one subject.
