do we need to differentiate the differences between the tests like tollens, schiffs, iodoform, bisulfite, KMnO4....etc.


what's a good source? i dont' recall kaplan explaining them really and i know destroyer differentiates b/t schiffs and tollens, what about the rest?

Yes sir! My organic chemistry lab book has all of that in it in both long explanation form and quick : tollens does this, benedict does this, etc.

I didnt have a single question it on real thing! but i guess just know basic stuff about it as destroyer explains.

Okay from what I now:

Tollens: Alfa-hydroxykeytone/aldehyde
Iodoform: Methyl keytone/Aldehyde
2,4-DNP: Carbonyl
Schiff: Aldehyde
KMNO4: aldehydes, alkenes and phenols
