ok so how important it is to know the conditions of a reaction like in ozonolysis we have 1)O3, CH2Cl2 2) NaBH4, CH3OH
do I have to memorize the whole thing or just knowing O3 and NaBH4 would be enough?
same for Hg(CH3COO)2 in addition of water.

I saw a question from a practice exam that asks for a sequence of what are being added.

If you understand the mechanism of such reaction, and the roles the different solvents come into play with it. It will be easy to just identify them. i know there are a few, but its worth spending some time on them.

IMO, Sublimation said it well. I think the purpose of the solvents is very important.
