Anyone have any feedback on this program? I saw some threads on 2008 cycle about how it was heavily weighted on cardiac cath. Seems like a large program.

I heard that it's private practice-like, very well respected in New Orleans area for being the best place to get your heart treated, that it's very weighted toward interventional, a lot of work and "learning by doing" and that it's pretty much all male.

Any thoughts on these Louisiana programs? Which one's the strongest? Are they all accredited?
Thanks!

Tulane...I know the hospital got flooded really bad during Katrina and they didn't have a functioning cafeteria for months. I'm sure things are better now. In general I hear that Ochsner is the supposed to be the top cards program in Louisiana, but Tulane is probably 2nd. I actually was going to interview @Tulane a couple of years ago but I cancelled the interview...just b/c of having too many interviews...but they were super nice on the phone by email. Tulane is probably a more traditional academic type place, whee Ochsner is more of a private clinica/private practice type environment. Ochsner is supposed to be good if you want to do interventional. I heard there was some badness going on an LSU, but I don't know the nature of that...I mean if it's just hard work and lots of impoverished patients, or if there is some badness/malignancy among the faculty or program leadership.

These are all just hearsay things I have heard.
