2025 Cardiology Board Review and ACCSAP

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
How closely do the actual Cardiology board exam questions mirror the questions in ACCSAP?
I think content is similar but felt as though the stems on the actual exam were longer and answer choices more convoluted (at least for the 2024 exam). That being said i thought it was enough to pass day 1 of the test.

ACCSAP is a joke. They test the correct materials but the questions are too easy. The ITE mimics the boards a lot more.

It's enough to pass day 1. It's day 2 that people fail since the board review courses neglect it.

I've taken and failed the exam twice now because of day 2. ACCSAP is enough to pass (not excel, but pass in a rather mediocre fashion) day 1. The ACCSAP questions are nothing like the board exam, since the board is so poorly written and at times you feel that you need to choose the least incorrect answer.

What is ur strategy for day 2 this time. I’m in the similar boat

Code everything you see in echo images and know diagnosis, go through code sheet on ABIM website and look up echo images for each diagnosis

Code only the main diagnosis of ECG, dont code minor stuff like atrial enlargement

Code everything you see in cath image, code every artery that is show in the image, look for stent occlusions, thrombus, CTO. Go through code sheet on ABIM website.

So echo and Cath is not negative marking? I thought I did very well on Cath films last time but I know I didn’t code everything

Are you using any additional resources? I’m using same mayo videos, accsap, ecg source and thinking of getting okeefe online

I used okeefe for the Canadian boards and thought it was extremely helpful. I imagine that it is designed for the American boards so would be more helpful for this exam. I think it’s worth it, but people in the 2024 exam thread didn’t find it helpful. Have you come across any anki decks?

I would recommend okeefe. I panick bought the online subscription the weekend before the test and tried to get through as much as I could.

Overall was very useful for day 2 and imo had better explanations and more practical coding compared to ecgsource.

I haven’t come across any good Anki decks, most of them require subscription not sure which is better. I felt last year their was still about 40% stuff on exam which wasn’t in mayo or accsap
