Can you beleive in 5 days, us Regular admissions folks may start hearing our fates? ?? October 15 is the first day AMCAS schools are allowed to offer acceptances. Five days from now my phone will be the center of attention for that blessed acceptance or that dreaded rejection. Chances are, the day will come and pass and I'll be placed in the hold group for another month or so of awaiting my fate. *sigh*

Must say, though, I do feel blessed to have had two wonderful [yet VERY different] in-state interviews so early on in the process.

Has any regular admissions person been offered an acceptance informally?
Man, the tension is killing my interests in classwork. Back to combinatorics... 😛

I am not applying yet (further down in my undergrad) but I wish you all luck. Don't stress! Just think, if you have applied to 30+ secondaries like others, at least one has gotta give you an acceptance!

🙂

MN told me I'd get a decision on the 15th or 16th. ARRRRRRRGGGHHHH!!! Man I could use an acceptance about now. If I get one, I can drop half my interviews, save a buttload of cash, and not go to school in the spring!!! yeah!!

Yeah, but don't get too hopeful about having everything fall into place like it normally would around this time.

Actually, all the texas state schools don't let you know until Jan 1st (i think), but if it's not that exact date, it *is* much later than AAMC dates. --Trek

Barton, I'm pulling for you!
Anyone else know if they'll get their decision on 15th/16th?

do u guys really think they are going to start telling us on the 15th..dont u think they might wait due to amcas probs.

sorry, if some one had already addressed it. 🙂

The UVA admissions director said they were already meeting weekly to make admissions decisions, and that we'd hear on the 15th of October. So, at least some schools are staying on schedule.

VCU is also going to send out its first batch of offers on the 15th.

I know that I'm getting mine, because the admissions people at Kentucky told me so (they even said we could call). I just can't wait to find out the verdict. 🙂

If you don't see a post at about 8:15 on Monday, I probably didn't get in.

I'm supposed to hear from New JErsey Medical School around that week

I'm supposed to hear from a school around the 15th...which is so soon. 😱
I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, it's just hard not too.

Ah well. The letters will come soon enough, and all we can do is wait. 🙂

OSU committee was meeting right after my interview batch --that afternoon (9/24). The Dean of Admissions told us that we would all be recieving envelopes around the 15th. 1 of 3 envelopes: the "happy" envelope(his words), deferral/further consideration or rejection. He said he would mail them so that they would arrive on the 15th. He said OSU is keeping on schedule quite well. Of course I WOULD have to be out of town 10/15: interviewing at Cincinnati! Best of luck to all. The fortunate among us will move to a new state of bliss 10/15 or thereabouts.

Reminds me of my interview. The interviewer had to end the meeting because she realized she was late for the committee meeting! I managed to ask her about my app. and she said Nov. 15th. Hope its a "happy" letter!!
Dr Notestine, the associate dean, did say that if one was rejected, that he would personally look over the file. Ofcourse, the students giving us the tour said early interviews are "in". Who knows 🙂

hey! why did you guys trick me into bumping this again?

i think brando bumped it and is trying to pass it off as someone else's doing. He's a little fruity like that  --Trek
