For all of you guys that heard from your schools that they will send out acceptances/wait list notifications on/after the 15th, and are anxiously waiting, do you know for a fact that your school has rendered a decision on your application?

I just called the schools at which I interviewed, all claiming they would have a 2-4 week turn around, and none of them have sent my file to committee yet (maybe that's code for rejection/wait list, I don't know). So, I don't have anything to expect this week, I don't think. I guess it's better I called them and asked instead of being in agony the whole rest of the week.

One of my schools made their decision on 9/12. The other school was a 2 week turn around (interview 9/22) and I was the first day of RDP invites. So I'm fairly confident I'll be getting my waitlist/rejections soon .

Never hurts to call. Call today though.. and just ask what the last interview date that should be recieving decisions tomorrow is.

Some schools directly tell you. Some of this is inferred/optimistic hoping: example- I interviewed at school A on their first interview day, i.e. I was in the first group of applicants that they saw. School A has rolling admissions. Therefore, if I was getting an acceptance, it would just make sense that it would come tomorrow, the first day to be accepted (also MSAR has first-date-of-acceptance dates for each school).

Welll, it seems that midnight on 10/15 wasn't very luck overall, but it's like New Year's Day. The threshold has been passed. All that lies ahead is possibility!

I got deferred at Michigan to a December decision. Do any previous applicants know how likely a deferment is to turn into an acceptance?

I believe UMich accepts about 60% of those whom they interview, so I would think that you still have a very good chance of acceptance. Maybe you could find out if all September interveiwees who were not accepted were deferred also, or does this represent a special class of interviewees. Good luck.
