so i already took the DAT, but I want to take it again to see if I can improve my scores. Is taking it early October too late? Or should I aim for late September? Or does it not matter, lol.
you should retake it whenever you are ready to take it....once you feel like you are able to solve problems on time, fast and correct... then schedule it. that's what am doing...
Schedule it for late september. If you are not ready 2 days before, literally 2 days, then push it back. While studying for it, don't even think about pushing it back. Take that completely out of your mind. Bust your balls and if necessary, push it back. You need confidence tho, and one more thing don't let topscore/achiever ruin your confidence because to me they are poor indicators of how you will do on the actual DAT.
I'm in the same boat, late Sept. early Oct. ? all that matters is being prepared and not rushing to take the test if you're not ready. After many hours of studying and lots of problems, take it and rock it! 10-12 hours/day for the next 4-6 weeks should do it and that's my attitude. I'm re-applying to Louisville and they know I'm not taking it until the fall and they don't have a problem with that, so hopefully other schools feel the same way!
