yeah... pcat is valid for a couple years.. 2 or 3? at least 2 im pretty sure.. definitely you'll be fine from october to sept.
The trend is:
Majority of pharmacy schools take August PCAT. (This is why so many test centers are full a month before registration deadline). A few may take the October PCAT and not very many will consider Jan. PCAT.
Do some research. Call pharmacy schools of your interest and ask whether they will consider October PCAT.

well i dont know how your school works but they dont care which pcat you take, and if you take 2 they'll take the latter. as long as they have scores by the application deadline.. which is mid feb. then theyll obviously take it... msot people arent done prereqs by the august a year before u want to get in
