Opinion on ocularists?
I’m a current opto student with a side passion for art that recently learned about ocularists. Upon further research, I found out it’s a fairly niche group since meticulous art skills are needed + a 5-year apprenticeship (10k hour). In Houston, there’s only 3 and the one I researched is a multi-millionaire/making way more than the average optometrist.
Are ocularists battling with tech advancement? Are there any hidden industry secrets that plague this career? I really don’t know much, but ROI seems better than optometry.
