Please excuse me for posting here but the other site seems rather inactive. I am posting the message below for a friend who lives on the reservation and does not have access to email except from the library which is miles away from him.
PhD programs not requiring the GRE My tribal chairman encourages me to pursue a doctoral program but said I should not patronize a test like the GRE or GMAT that is known to be unfair to Native Americans. To us Indians, a tribal chairman is like President Obama is to Americans. And when a native american elder expresses his wishes, we almost always respect it. Especially when he happens to be the leader of our Indian nation.
I want to teach at a university and do research, so I do need a PhD. I am not picky about the field my PhD will be in. It could be Business, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Operations Research, Economics, etc, as long as I can teach and do research.
Please suggest PhD programs that don't need tests like the GRE or GMAT (or that waive such tests). Thank you.
