Forgive me for posting on this forum - if I posted in the wrong one, let me know. I'm new to this forum.

I recently established a social communication with someone stating that he is a navy doctor. How do I know he is real in his occupation? I'm not a doctor but I use to be an EMT so I have some knowledge in the medical field. Is there a test question I can ask him and know what the response is to it? I'm just skeptic...

Thanks for ANY advice.

Actually, though, without looking at @Birdstrike's link, if the dude is a Navy doc, he might not yet be board certified, especially if he is out in GMO (General Medical Officer) land. He must have a state license, somewhere, though.

Look for a NPI number. This is public. You can google their name and NPI. Should help get you started.
