I thought that they weren't going to update or let anyone know until Feb 1st??? did anyone else get accepted today?? i'm just wondering if this is a mistake/fluke??? if not, i am PUMPED.
 
well, mine still says invited for interview. 🙁

Seriously, this is starting to disturb me! He said, anyone "else" get accepted so I'm assuming that he did get in otherwise the use of the word "else" woudn't be needed. On the flip side, if this is a joke, it wouldn't surprise me that he's is actually logged out and laughing at us while we squirm over his inopportune statement😡

HEY GUYS, I HATE TO BE THE BEARER OF BAD NEWS BUT LURCHDUBIOUS WAS RIGHT, THEY DID MAKE OFFERS TODAY!!! I GOT IN!!! I GOT IN!!! FREAK YEAH!!! EXCUSE ME WHILE I RUN DOWN THE STREET IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT YELLING YES! YES! YES!:banana::boom::barf:

Okay I'm back! Hey, they let me know via the AADSAS update (assuming that this is no mistake). I don't want to beat a dead horse but Dr. Healy DID SAY that he would be updating AADSAS on the 1st of February so I would still anticipate acceptances being sent out on that day. I really do hope that all of you guys, especially lemoncurry, gets into VCU. You've all been way cool to me and I appreciate all of the support and love you've shown. I would definitely want to go to school with people like you who have such awesome character. Good luck!!!!!

denticus.....so there was a delay in your AADSAS updating you from the OP? arg! mine still says "invited for interview"...I KNOW I WAS INVITED! i want to know if i was ACCEPTED!!!!

Okay, so I am a little OCD okay when it comes to dental admissions...ehhemmm...that said, when I saw the note from Lurchdubious I got a little emotionally rattled. My first instinct was to check my AADSAS status but I wanted to make sure that no stone was left unturned before I checked; just to investigate if the rumor was indeed true. Well, I looked all over, careful not to jinx my AADSAS status update and then...with a shaky hand repeating to myself over and over, "I could have gotten in, I COULD HAVE GOTTEN IN!" I clicked on the Status update at designated schools, scrolled down to VCU resulting in an emotional confirmation that Lurchdubious had been right indeed. Dude, I am so stoked! Like I said before xtractime, Dr. Healy not only told me at my interview, but also others on other days of interviewing that they would update on Feb 1st on AADSAS. The comment previously was that Dr. Healy had met and extended only "some offers" not many or all. I'm sure they will extend more out on the 1st. Good luck!!! :luck:
 
^^^ dang well i sure hope so. the "2nd" batch of feb 1st.....or maybe that was all they are handing out. lemmoncurry and i just wallowing in our own self pity, hahah. at least i have no tests right now to worry about, just took one today. 6 interviews....no acceptances. i'm right where denticus was 3 weeks ago *sigh*

Thanks man! I always did say that I wanted to go to a school with people I know so now I will. I can't wait to hit the clinic...Dr. Dishman was a stud! I am honestly surprised I got in because the student who was observing me at lunch (during the interview) was from the University of Utah and openly admitted to me that he couldn't stand BYU kids. I expected a bad note from him but who knows, maybe VCU is aware of the "holy war" between BYU and Utah and didn't measure his words with a lot of weight. Man, I don't know! I am just so happy right now! 🙂

I just got an e-mail from Dr. Healy saying AADSAS updated all offers given this round. I guess some of us are going to have to wait even longer now. Is there another round, or are they just going to give acceptances periodically when a spot opens up?
 
ugh. that blows. i really want to get in. i guess now those of us who did not get an acceptance need to keep our cell phones on us at all times cause he said he will call from here on out to offer spots on the waitlist, offers of admission, etc.

sad times 🙁

that kinda stinks. sorry to all of you who have to wait. i have a good friend at my school here who interviewed pre-december and was really excited for friday.....his status didn't change either. waiting is horrible. good luck everyone.

Just curious why you received an email from him? Did you send him an email earlier asking him if all offers were made this round?

I really didn't want to have to wait any longer!!! Though this 2nd round has been exciting for some, I'm kind of depressed...

Yeah, I emailed Dr. Healy asking if there were anymore acceptances being sent out for this round. I know how you feel... VERY depressing.

Not getting in first round felt like a girl breaking up with me by saying "It's not me, it's you." Not getting in second round feels like sleeping with that same girl again, and waking up to find her sneaking out of your house, telling you that it was a mistake and wanting to be "just friends."

I think I need a bath... with my toaster.

:laugh:, You make me laugh Phraud! Dude, I am sure that you'll get in somewhere; you have awesome DAT scores.

As for the double deposits. Dr. Healy told us that he won't be able to see who double deposited until March. Also, it just doesn't make any sense that Dr. Healy told us that they wouldn't update until Feb 1st and then update on the 30th-o-Jan instead. Did they just randomly decide to meet earlier and to send out 2nd rounders earlier? If so, why on earth would he tell several groups of interviewers about the Feb 1st update and then switch to the 30th-o-Jan...and then NOT email all of us and tell us. I would still hold my breath on the 1st. For all we know, Healy may have just sent Phraud that email to keep him at bay. I don't know anymore guys, this whole application cycle has been so screwy. I just hope that all of you guys that haven't gotten in yet will get in somewhere and soon. Please PM me if you have any questions or need any help with anything. Good luck all! :luck:

i also emailed Dr. Healy last night after seeing the update. he hit me back this morning and said that it was a mistake; that the updates were not supposed to be visible until feb 1st. the tone of his email was somewhat annoyed i think. 'though i could be wrong.

Oh crap! I sure hope that THE PEOPLE THEY SENT the updates too wasn't a mistake! Copy and paste the darned email lurchdubious! I've got to see for myself. I hope that all of this isn't too good to be true!

lol. no, i'm sorry i meant that the fact that AADSAS was updated early was a mistake. sorry to give you a heart attack, bigguy. the updates are correct.
