Notice that, up to now, most rejections are by schools that screen their applicants before sending a secondary.

Rejections REALLY start pouring in later on in the year. I think many schools wait to see what kind of applicants they're getting in a given year before they start rejecting people.

Well, after my first interview, I went to my mailbox and got my first rejection from University of Washington. I live in Colorado. In the letter it said, "As an out of region applicant, you do not meet the criteria for admission." I got a frickin good MCAT and GPA! What the hell do they want?

They really only accept WWAMI students -Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho. I go to school in Wasington, but I'm a CA resident, so I was told not to apply. Don't think that this rejection is a reflection of your GPA or MCAT or your chances at others schools. It is just their policy.

Haven't been asked for LORs yet either. They already have interviews booked till January. So it doesn't look all that great right now, at least for the immediate future.

Exactly same thing happened to me with EVMS. I talked to the Dean, and he said call him up after I receive my august scores, and they will look at my file again.

I got rejected by UCSF today. 🙁

I do have to say it's the most polite rejection I've ever had. They seemed genuinely sorry to blow me off. It was pre-secondary and said it was based on my academic record, extracurricular activities, and personal statement. Ouch! My stats are competitive I think, so what the heck? 😕

i had the phone interview with mayo about a week ago. all i have to say is that the interview was very awkard. there's no feed back. basically you talk and talk and talk until you think your answers are adequate. i think i said too much in mine and i once i kept talking and forgot what the question was. 🙂

you guys should be happy... rochester sucks ass. i interviewed there for the 8-year program in high school and my host told me not to come there unless drinking was the coolest social activity i could think of... and the weather sucks and it's out in the boonies, too. maybe it's God's way of doing you guys a favor.

i think i said too much in mine and i once i kept talking and forgot what the question was. 🙂

I do that sometimes ....when I go on forever answering a question I forget what the question really was 🙂
